CES is irrelevant, I don't expect any ILC-related product announcement there. If they have something to show us, I bet it would be at CP+.

I am absolutely convinced Pentax will show some very nice products, quite soon. When exactly, it depends on how fast the R&D was progressing (and I would rather want them to take their time and make issue-free products, from the beginning).

Not sure if it will make the show, but... Look for the largest flash unit announcement ever to come from Metz soon - with even two units that have larger GN's than the (about) 1k priced 76 unit.

What if that new DA* 16-50mm 2.8 zoom was a FF lens...

It would cost 3,000 €.

Wide angle XS lens

How about a 15 to 21 mm XS prime that stays as small as the 40mm XS. Or even a "Normal" 24mm or 28mm XS.

Pentax Ricoh Imaging Americas announes no new products whatsoever.

Rather they announce a fully-fleshed-out, multi-channel features/value/outdoor brand identity / marketing plan for USA/SA.

Plan includes rational dealer stocking incentives (including leased space in major sporting goods retailers), retail price guidance for electronics retailers, print and e-media co-op advertising, In-house Media/PR professional staff, dedicated traveling workshiop teams, dedicated "blog trolls", In-house customer service, a road map to bring repair service in house, a roadmap to bring website maintenance in-house, and relocation of the HQ to Flagstaff, AZ, very close to the Grand Canyon for WR photo-rafting Canyon Tours.

Well, maybe a WG-IIs in Sweet Briar Pink and Green

In a recent interview Pentax stated that the XS wideangle mock-up lens protruding into the camera shown at CP+ last year raised no interest among Pentax fans. I'd say that special lenses for K-mirrorless are not to be expected.

Really? That's too bad. Its probably connected to the K-01 not being received well and XS lenses not being usable on DSLRs.. I would like to see some more XS lenses, though. And some wide angle primes in general, those are always exciting. An even smaller and cheaper 15 mm would be great. People could literally carry a bunch of primes with them. That would seriously compete against large zoom lenses.

Considering that the K-01 seems like a dead end, I would say that the XS lenses are unlikely to be forthcoming.

It's the new year but .... I don't get Russian television. Nor Pravda, Izvestia, and Trud. Won't deliver to the middle of the US, it appears. What's up there, Ogl??

Unlike FF, it is hard to get interested in what does not yet exist, and which exceeds the imaginings of fans of the existing.

Pair a new XS 18mm with the XS 40 and a revised XS 70 based on the current limited and it would be VERY interesting, on the existing K-01.
I'm optimistic but not hopeful.

The in-body lenses make way more sense on the wider-angle lenses.

I would've liked to see a XS21 or XS15. Oh well, it certainly wasn't worth purchasing a K-01 for.
