Was an early adopter of the K10D. It worked fine. Yes there were some firmware updates to do later. No different than a person buying the last K10D off the line. They all started with firmware 1.0.
Congratulations to pentax for getting them out quick. Congratulations to the lucky new owners. Should receive mine soon.

Same batteries as the K10D. They'll start out as above, and like all lithium batteries, they'll be at about 70% of max capacity within three years of manufacture no matter how you treat them (even sitting unopened). It's good news for K10D users that they continue to use the same battery, because it means that new ones will still be produced.

Congrats to Pentax and new owners of K20D!

I too purchased an early K10D and never had a single issue with it (over a year now)...

Want new K20D - yes, but since I'm very happy with K10D and K100D, I'm having a hard time deciding between getting new lenses or spending money on new body...

Nevertheless, I'm sure K20D is a wonderful camera, will get it's praise, worth every penny, but I think I'll wait a little...
