Samyang 50 f1.2 in 2014 :)

Hello everyone,

I found this : Samyang 50mm f/1.2 likely to come in 2014! | sonyalpharumors

Samyang seems to be building a 50mm f1.2 for 2014 it sounds great on a Pentax DSLR full frame

Wow, Samyang is really pumping out interesting primes one after the other. Will be interesting to see how it performs in comparison to other brand 50mm's

Samyang won't disappoint either, I have faith in Korean manufacturers, much more so than Japanese or Vietnamese. Pentax should look into partnering with Samyang for lens designs though, they design them, Pentax builds them with a DC motor.

Well this lens will mostly be a big rival against the Pentax 50mm lenses (very few f1.2 can be found, a lot of people are already using manual 50mm lenses) and the Zeiss lenses (great, but expensive and no AF). But the fact that its manual isn't really a big problem with modern cameras that have focus peaking.

Could be interesting. I like MF primes, and the Samyangs have good reputations, but they're just so big.

Doesn't Canon also have a 50 1.2?

You had better stock up on more full frame lenses then had you not!

I have a lot of respect for my A50 f/1.2 so will be very interested in how it compares.

I already have a few in the kit
If it is anything like their previous offerings, of which I have a few, it will be good.

Ooo, this should be very interesting...

I had the Vivitar (same, just branded differently) 13mm, and 85mm for Minolta/Sony and was happy with the build quality of the lens and the IQ (on film since I didn't have a Sony DSLR). Hopefully this one will be a good one as well!

I have the K-mount 6.5mm Opteka, Sony A-mount 35mm F1.4 Bower and K-mount 85mm F1.4 Rokinon that are built by Samyang and the 50mm F1.2 would be great on my full frame Sony NEX-VG900.
