The magazine does predict the K3/K3s will be released in April, not March. However, the D7100 came out earlier than they predicted.

When is the Sony Exmor RS sensor available? Is this what Pentax is waiting for?

Heres another for hoping they keep the same body as K-5.

I'm in the market for a battery grip for my K-7 this year and am sort of waiting to see if it will be compatible with the K-3. I won't be able to buy a new camera for at least a year, but by then the price and perhaps some bugs will be hammered out.

I'll keep using my K-7 until it stops working, though it may be relegated to spring/summer photographs.

Prediction:

The camera body will be almost identical to the K-7 and K-5 series but with some new aesthetic detailing, like perhaps the angled prism/flash housing from the K-30, and a handgrip with different proportions or texturing. The dimensions and weight will be almost identical, and it will still use the D-LI90 battery. There will be a new "red button" to start video recording, and it will be reprogrammable like on the K-01.

However, the green button will be moved to the front of the camera near the lens release button.

Okay, I'm not entirely serious about that last part. But it is Pentax.

I wouldn't be surprised to see a larger body with more external controls, that is, if the K-5 II is staying in the lineup and K-3 is a pro-spec body.

One thing people haven't considered is the possibility that pentax may come out with a camera using a monochrome sensor. As a user of the Leica Monochrom, I have seen that the camera is immune to the problematic artefacts that Bayer sensors suffer from when the AA filter is removed. And the Monochrom is only using a kodak CCD sensor with less than up-to-date technology, removal of the Bayer colour filters means the High ISO on this sensor is improved two stops compared to the Bayer sensor equipped M9. People rave on about X-trans but that is a dead end and absolute hell to de-mosaic- Foveon technology is out of the question, but a Monochrome sensor in a DSLR - that could be very interesting.

I agree if the K-3 has a articulating LCD I will keep my K-5 and think more seriously about a D600 or a used 5D MKII

Why is that (just asking, not criticising)? The swivelling screen on the D5100 is not too badly done, though I admit that the clunky one on the MX-1 does the design no favours at all. Personally, I don't think that the K-3 will have one, but that's just a guess on my part.

I think something like that is more likely to be a part of Ricoh line up.

Just a hunch.
