I'd wager on that assertion.

Say, 6 months after introduction of the D400, amazon sales results of top selling variant?
Didn't you also wager that there would never be a D400 becasue the the higer end APS cameras would be killed off by FF cameras? (or was that somebody else?).

me niether. ISO 80 seems pretty clean to me... and I use it all the time.
TBH I cant really tell the difference betwen ISO 80 and 100, they both look great.

Mind you i've only taken 111 shots at iso 80 and 345 at iso100 with my K-5 so far.
(only 1 shot at iso51200, which must have just been a test)

You don't find the K5's ISO 80 noisy? And are those BIF shots of any usable quality?

I'm sorry, I must be spoiled.
This is silly. There is more dynamic range and more recoverable shadow detail on the K5 II at iso 80 than on your 5D Mk IIs at its lowest iso (this per DXO). To get better than the K5, you would need to go to Nikon D800 or D600 and even those aren't a whole lot better at lowest iso.

You do understand that the comments were made with respect to low iso (80 on K5 II, 50 on D600) and not high iso?

I know I didn't actually make any wager like that. I do agree that in general the higher end APS cameras will continue to have a shrinking marketshare, but I doubt I would've put money on no-more APS cameras.

Why is there such a pronounced difference between the K-30 and K-5ii in Raw? Shouldnt they be about the same, given both cameras use the same exact sensor?

I imagine it is a combination of the lack of AA filter and 14 bit processing on the K5 IIs versus the K30.

I looked at both comparing ISO80 to ISO50 and ISO100 not that much difference at all

I actually perfer the K5iis images over the D600 images in both a high iso and low iso scenario. The grain, while not as tight on the K5IIs, is more pleasing to my eye.

So yea, D600... impress me. Please.

And so March 27th, 10AM Japan time came and went with nary a whisper. RiceHigh changed his story to April 17th, Svitek admitted his story was a hoax (which should have been obvious from the start), and we are left right back where we started: Nippon Camera's prediction of a K-3/K-3s in April.

As much as I wish we all learned something from this whole sorry episode, it's just another typical week in the News and Rumors forum isn't it?

Yup!! And the RH post from Pentax Australia (aka CR Kennedy) about FF is nothing more than speculation either.
RH tends to be over optimistic/enthusiastic (even fraudulent?) on his rumours.

I for one am absolutely shocked that an amateur kid photog seeking publicity and a known pentax-troll who thrives on publicity proved not to be correct about launch dates, camera details or any other single thing.
