Your science and my science, it seems, are in conflict.
Oops, this is literally a HOT topic, so as much as I would like to comment on this (and I tend to agree with you): Isn't it time to take this to the General Talk part somewhere?

We really, really need news on new cameras now

We shall get back on topic now. Global warming can be discussed in the plethora of threads addressing it in General Talk.

I agree. But I do get bored waiting for the cameras.

I recently blocked News and Rumors and General Talk and I just reset my bookmark to open directly in the Mirrorless Forum. Now the only threads on Browse New Posts are Pictures and Marketplace.

Ah, I see that the occupational force has also infiltrated this forum....don't let the past 400 years fool you, we're watching you, one of these days our provinces will return to us

Back on topic a bit, I'm visiting Japan this week for work, and found an occasion to stop by Yodobashi - a huge Japanese camera (& other gadget) shop. Pentax is relatively prominently displayed, and they seem to stock the full series of everything. That's, of course, not surprising, Yodobashi prides itself on having....everything in stock.

What was of note, however, was that I didn't see any physical copy of the new APS-C GR, much to my disappointment. Rather large displays, card-board displays etc. with it, an oddly, a much advertised Ricoh GR gadget bag - but no sight of the camera. Didn't have time to inquire the sales-staff, though

Got to play with the MX-1, man that's a nice camera. Two things struck me, however: (i) it's got a lens cap, which renders it a little less obvious as a "grab and shoot" widget, and (ii) it's somewhat bigger. While it feels solid and good, I can't help but wonder that either a bigger sensor in it (like the GR) or a more compact/pocketable form-factor....as well as an integrated-lens-cover....would help it in the battle with similar form-factor cameras from the competition. That is, if they want to sell it to the masses, not to enthusiasts.

Maybe.

You know what's really funny? Reading the first page of this thread, and then skipping right to the last page (before this post)... then trying to guess what the hell transpired in the intervening pages that caused the discussion to devolve to such a ridiculous state.
Have you come to a conclusion then?

The Devil made me do it.

So with higher ISO settings available these latest digital cameras generate considerable heat when recording long exposures. Surely that excess heat can't be good for the climate, can it?

I know, because I faked it...

Just a bit of fun. Enjoying the K-5 II, I'm noticing a few differences to the K100D.

Because it seems it's already out of stock over there.

It is so good, Pentax decided to bypass the K-6 and go directly to the K-6ii
