In Stock at Amazon!

Yep, finally. Pentax really was on the ball this time around. I think Hoya might be a great match. I am getting mine soon with my Amazon Visa!

Congrats on your new arrival, can't wait to see some photos. I just ordered my very own from Wolf Camera's online site this morning. No tax and free shipping! Whoo-hoooo, now where is that UPS driver?

Amazon delivered my K20D this morning... now I'm just waiting for the battery to finish charging. Looks great so far, noticeably bigger than my K100D. I was surprised how flexible the rubber eyecup is, the K100D one feels completely solid with no flex. (Yes, I prefer the K20D one already!) Also the viewfinder is clearly larger than the K100D's - probably not a surprise to K10D users, but I never had the chance to play with one.

1225+10.5 shipping in ANTonline (in amazon). We can play "price forecast". I would expect 100 USD drop in price by the moment Samsung release the GX20 and a price of 1000USD by the moment the canon XSI, Sony A350 hit the stores. By fall it will cost 900.

Just a reminder to those buying from Amazon that it's often worth adding the item again to your cart as a "Saved for later" item. Then periodically over the next month check you cart. If the price changes, they will give you a nice little notice and you can send them an email through their help link for a refund.

They are pretty prompt about processing those. I think I had five during the holiday season and all were refunded within a day. Also, the policy states the price match is from their shipping date, not your order date. And the item must be sold by Amazon to qualify.

Just in case anyone wasn't already aware of this.

Amazon still has it in stock, you have to "add to cart" to see the price - $1,255.64. Guess I better put in a request for a price adjustment on mine.

You can see Amazon's own stock from this link.

So what you are saying is that if i get my K20D, and add another one to "save for later", i would get a refund down the road? It sounds too good to be true.

Only if the price drops in the next 30 days. That is the "official" policy, but I have had good luck getting them to do a price adjust even ~40 days after the initial purchase.

Sorry, should have more clearly stated the 30 day value - thanks ankit.

Having it as a "Saved for later" item just makes it easy for you to notice when the price changes, because when you click on the Cart link, they will list any items that have changed in price. That way, you don't have manually go checking, it's just an automatic notification. You get the same notification if it is in the active part of your cart, but with it saved for later, you're less likely to accidentally buy another one.

When you see that the price has changed, you then request the refund by clicking on the Help link (upper right), then the Customer Service button (right side of page). From there, a couple of options, but the one I used was the "e-mail" tab. Select the order, set issue to Refund, and add a note indicating the price dropped and you would like a refund. Don't know if the note helps or not, but...

K20D and SMC DA*16-50 ordered

I took the shot - at Amazon
K20D $1245.92; and the DA*16-50 for $668.73
Gulp
I'm toying with the idea of posting the story of how I came to make this decision: from Nikon film for 35 years, dedicated darkroom at home, and only a p&s digital to date.
Thank you all for the posts, I've read many over the last 2 months.

K20D, K100D, and *ist DL (the latter soon going away). I should have put the K1000 in there too.

Was it just a few weeks ago that we were guessing at what the stats would be? I'm really impressed that Pentax was able to get the cameras out so soon.

Oh, and the 20fps mode is pretty cool, too. And Live View is better than I thought, it's so fast and easy to use that I could see it being a real boon to manual focusing in certain situations.
