Seeing that the market seems enamored with 'vintage' Pentax would do well to consider making a LX-D and a MX-D (yes a manual only Digital). I used to own an LX (and MX) and it was a gorgeous camera. People would go nuts for these, I know I would, even though I have a couple of Nikons.
+1

With a non cripled af mount like mz series....

If you just look at Pentax, maybe,

I have Sigma 17 - 35, 28 - 70, 70-200 all DG / FF

In FF primes I have Sigma 24mm and Pentax 43, 50, 77, 100

I have been waiting a long time for a Pentax FF and the 'certanty' that one would come has coloured my lens purchases.

Bill
Likewise, I have the Sigma 28mm f/1.8, the Pentax DA 40 Limited, the Pentax DA 50 f/1.8 and the D FA 100mm f/2.8 WR. Does anyone know if the DA 70 Limited is full-frame capable? If so, then I'm covered.

The DA40 is not really FF usable (not a vignetting but a correction issue).

While a FF camera is all find and dandy, I personally have no interest in one. However, I suspect that a lot of people will be selling off their APS-C only lenses to try and scoop up some FF lenses, and I'll be waiting cash in hand to get some good deals on those APS-C lenses.

Everyone wins!

5 new [distinct, discrete] cameras...the N&R section never disappoints in bringing the lawls Starting from this month until this month in 2014...potentially.

Re: The DA lens issue on full frame. I think it's not so much that a lens can cover the 24x36mm area, but whether or not Pentax will force a cropped mode when mounted. That will be the case, I'm sure.

I will order one if FF is coming for PENTAX. But please PENTAX, don't announce it on April fool day. and Adam, no more April fool joke this year please!

But I wish they bundle it with a 24-70mm f2.8 WR lens, else I have no wide angle lens to use it.
and would be awesome if they sell at Nikon D600 + lens price @1999 last thanks giving deal...

I though the DA40 inherited the formula of the M40, therefore it had to be full frame compatible.

Something weird is that the DA40 vignets quite a bit on APS-C, so the above might not be true...

That would be one of those really bad marketing ploys to push new lens sales, specially with Pentax' reputation of being able to use legacy glass from grandpa.

I guess that, if that's the case, you always convert your DA lenses to A by shutting the electrical contacts...I'm sure somebody will come up with a trick.

It would be good if they gave us the choice - than to force it.

It may be the Tamron 24-70mm f2.8.

Well, that wouldn't be too hard to beat. They'd have to multiply with another k (to make it 24 megapixels) to impress me.
