More Sigma tests. These shots are looking for the onion ring in lights. They are pretty much what I've seen in the numerous examples around. I did a quick garage setup with just a garage light overhead and what you see in the background.

Sheesh, you make the most inane objects into art pieces...I wish I had your eye

Literally all the sample pictures I see from the Sigma 35mm F1.4 look great to me. Added bonus is that the combination K-5 + Sigma 35/1.4 looks very handsome. And it also looks like something my male hands can balance very comfortably. But now, with all that's happening in photography-land, I have no idea for what system I need to get this lens. For my K-5? For my 5DII? Or do I wait and see if it comes out for the A7r, which I preordered. Dang, I hate proprietary lens mounts. Should be forbidden.

It is a stunning lens IMO probably the best Sigma has done to date. Not cheap granted but it's superb optics wise doesn't really make sense for APS-C users though not at that cost. If Pentax ever do a FF body this will be a must have lens

In my mind the extra aperture (vs the 31mm F/1.8) is more appropriate for APS-C than FF... just 1 person's opinion...

the rendering is quite beautiful, dare I say better than the 31mm Limited?

I may look at this for my Nikon kit instead of the 28mm f1.8 G lens... seems like a much better suitor. Especially since I don't really enjoy 30mm lenses on APS-C (yet I love 50mm on FF? figure that out)

Personally the Pentax 35 f2.4 is an amazing lens. I love the detail and the color. The focal length is very appealing. I don't think the sigma lens will take the market with its price tag being so high.

It will not take the lens market but it will take the Pentaxians moaning contest higher, for sure

I took the plunge and purchased this lens. I grew tired of waiting for the 18mm - 35mm f/1.8 in Pentax mount. Anyway, the f/1.4 35mm is the best lens I own and have ever used, its razor sharp on my K3 and the focus is silent, fast and accurate. I think this lens is worth every penny and it looks superb on the K3. If Sigma make the f/1.4 50mm in a Pentax mount I will be snapping one up. Sigma, hats off to you, you are really producing some excellent glass these days.

What should not be forgotten is that compared to the 31ltd the sigma35 is considerably cheaper, has a modern focussing system ( no noisy screw) and the lenssoftware can be updated. Moreover it is 1.4 in stead of 1.8, quite a difference. That it is built like a tank or motor with glass inside does not bother me at all. Give me a tank anyday!
Agree!

The bokeh on this seems better than it was on the previous generation of Sigma 50 mm f/1.4 but I still think the FA 31's renderings still look nicer.

Right now Fuji is leading the way in lens design. I picked up the 35mm Fuji last year, but I still have not picked up a body. I will order the 56mm F/1.2 and the new Fuji X-T1. Right now the Sigma 85mm is my most used lens on My K-3. I might sell my 31mm and see if Pentax updates the FA LTD line up.
