A beautiful lens that seems destined to perform well.

I want one and will probably get one, But it does seem a bit big......

Did sigma drop their warranty period down to 1 year for all lenses or just this one?

I'm only interested in the APS-C Art Sigma 30mm f/1.4...
Still no news on that one... Praying hard that it will cater to K mount too...

The lens are finally available for Pentax.
I can't wait for Sigma 35 vs 31 Ltd review.

According to the DxO web site, they are testing the 31mm this month.

Yes, there's an update for the 30/1.4 too! But no K mount in sight currently yet! :/

Well I saw the 30/1.4 (APS) was revamped but I didn't know they included it in their Art serie, I'm quite surprised.
If indeed it is, it's no simple update and a really new lens.

DxO lens tests ignore bokeh.

Take that for what you will, but in my mind it makes the tests much less valuable, and the 'conclusion' numbers irrelevant.

In addition, the tests ignore flare. That's another reason to 'discount' their conclusion, for me, for wide-angle pictures.

Their conclusion numbers severely over-weigh sharpness and transmitted light, while ignoring bokeh. I'm confused as to who this is relevant for. Handheld moonlit landscape pictures?

The Sigma Art 30mm f/1.4 DC HSM is a new lens with a new optical formula: 9 elements in 8 groups instead of 7 elements in 7 groups for the old one, the Sigma 30mm f/1.4 EX DC HSM.

In addition to a new optical formula the new lens gives an extra aperture blade (9 instead of 8) and closer minimum focusing distance (0.9 ft instead of 1.3 ft).

EX on the left, Art on the right

I just picked up my second Sigma (pentax mount). I have the 30/1.4 bought from a fellow PF member. I love the lens. Does anyone have information on the optical coatings? I was just curious how it compares with SMC coatings. I went to the Sigma site expecting to see a bunch of propaganda about how great the coatings, etc are but I didn't find any info. I guess EX was their top of the line lenses?
