Originally posted by derekkite He also refers to, somewhere along the line, the K5 III and K5 IIIs. That is an interesting thought. The K5 body and general form and feature set is very nice, at $1100 ish price range. A new version every year with incremental changes and improvements would be a great strategy for Pentax. The K3 sounds like a higher end something or other.
I have no idea if he is genuine.
Have you checked the "website", actually a freebie page, to which Mike Svitek references himself on Twitter? It's
svitekphotos's Instacanv.as Gallery - I mean, it doesn't suggest an obvious candidacy for testing a high-end FF prototype under an NDA (which he doesn't seem to be keeping).
On the other hand there is a Milan Svitek - not Mike - who is also a photographer with a site here:
The 35mm Studio: Photography by Milan Svitek. Maybe folks are getting this Mike and Milan mixed up which could be complicated by Mike being a bit mixed up about whether he is Mike or Milan, or maybe Milan is also known as Mike and sometimes mixes up Mike and Milan which would be understandable since Mike probably mixes them up anyway and we know that Milan and Mike can be easily mixed up just by looking through the posts on this thread. Are you a bit mixed up about Mike and Milan? Well, just imagine what it must be like for the poor manager of Pentax's beta-testing programme. He's likely in Tokyo and doesn't speak much English.
And there is more than one Mike Svitek about, just Google. A Mike Svitek has this image on his FB page:
Yup, that looks more like it. Definitely a Pentax beta-tester there. Tokyo has chosen well ...
Happy hunting!
