For an APSC sensor? Pretty sure not, unless it's made from a mithril/unobtanium alloy.

Edit:
lens - Why no zoom lenses below f/2.8? - Photography Stack Exchange

Most of the estimates I've seen on a something like this for a APSC zoom put is as a massive, +$5k lens. Can't see Sigma doing that; and besides, who would buy it?

Another Czech source

There seems to be another source, also in the Czech Republic - which is pretty creddible photographic website with it's own web store.
According to it the 18-35mm f/1.8 DC HSM will be introduced tomorrow and it is for APS-C size senzor. The website already has details of the lens (in Czech) here Sigma 18-35mm f1.8 DC HSM | Fotor

It isn't clear if and which mounts the lens will be available with, the catalogue piece says Sigma mount.

Original article:

Sigma p

Cannot guarantee fully that this is real, but so they say

72mm filter size seems small for an ultra fast 18-35mm F1.8 zoom lens.

Why would that be? There are tons of f/2.8 zoom lenses out there with wider zoom ranges and smaller size/weight, like the Tamron 17-50 f/2.8.

An 18-35 f/2.8 would be pointless unless it was a pancake, or at least a "Limited-like" package.

You can get a smaller (500 grams vs 800 grams) 18-50 f/1.8 lens for about $280 (used)

Just by a Tamron 28-75 f/2.8 and shoot it on FF!

So, you guys look a bit silly, unless an official announcement posted on dpreview is also considered dodgy...

As for the people saying that it's pointless because you can get a 3x zoom f2.8 lens - um, yeah, but this is f1.8? That's more than a stop faster, so it allows lower ISOs and gets a thinner DOF.

People saying that you can just shoot an f2.8 lens on FF... yeah great but I don't have a FF nor do I want one.

If they weather seal it, I would be prepared to sell my DA* 16-50 and pay around $1,500 for it.

I assume you're referring to my post, in which, if you would read it again, I clearly said a "18-35 f/2.8" is pointless in reference to kenafein saying "even 2.8 would be pretty incredible".

This lens may totally change my mind about primes. I have probably to find more work to save some money for this beauty.
