They might have set aside a certain number to be sold at that price. Or it might have been wildly successful, (for a given definition of wildly).

I bought one, not 100% sure why but I have been looking at the WG series for a long time, mostly for underwater or at least in the water shots. Just never thought I would use it enough to justify it. Anyway, one is on the way so we will see how the followup is.
You'll have to tell us what you think of it, because there have been some conflicting reports out there about its IQ and such.

Will do. Saw some of those reports and they are a bit worrisome. I'm not expected a lot compared to the k-5 but we will see.

This bothers me. I cannot express the personal level of absolute disdain and the ensuing vitriol that arises when contemplating how this could in any way, shape, or form, be considered entertaining or worse, "newsworthy" and informative to the denizens of the greatest country in the world [sic].

America, please stop making me ashamed of you.

Friday's (3May) GMA - Pentax deal was $200 and free shipping on a WG-3. That is 55% off full price.

What I find interesting is if I use the same GMA special deal link today (5May), I am taken to the page with the various colors for the Q10. No special deal there, but does this mean Pentax plans to semi-regularly do promotions on GMA? .... even if Pentax does do this, I wouldn't hold my breath on seeing any APS-C or full frame products, only broad market consumer items.

If I were running their website and my product was sold out, I would load another product - in this case the Q- that might be of interest to tnose shoppers, instead of them seeing it's sold out and then navigating to another website- eg amazon to buy a canikon. I'm not sure you can read anything into it.

Except that somebody at Pentax had the good sense to redirect customers to something they have instead of to a 'sold out' page.

For a while, the Pentax Webstore had a banner that said something like "The GMA WG-2 offer is sold out". (Yes, oddly enough, it did say "WG-2" instead of "WG-3".) No banner now.

Wow, I'm still waiting on delivery of my WG-3. The webstore still says backordered. Did anyone receive theirs yet?

Just got an email from them stating it was back ordered due to "overwhelming demand". I guess they were not prepared for what happens when you actually market your product /sarc

The email said to reply if I wanted to cancel, so I did. It was a good deal but I'm not waiting.

Target has WG-10 for $145. I got one at that price.
