Pentax just posted on Facebook that there'll be some sort of Pentax deal on Good Morning America tomorrow.

This is most certainly a sign that Pentax is doomed!

Wow, I didn't know that show was still around. I thought it had gone the way of the Oprah Winfrey show. But what do I know, I haven't watched T.V. in years.

Good Moring America has more viewer's than Today now. Not sure why this is a bad thing. At least they are marketing.

for those of you not on Facebook, here's the announcement:

"Tune in tomorrow morning to #GoodMorningAmerica at 8am in your time zone for a sweet #PENTAX deal! Don't miss this!"

What I want to know is do I have to watch the entire program's commercials to find the Pentax deal? Or will it air right at 8 am? I also am curious if this is actually a televised advertisement or will there be some sort of promotion/product tie-in to a GMA program segment?

Anyway, not holding my breath for anything significant or particularly "sweet."

The new advertising campaign budget is probably the best rationale for lens prices going up.

Doubtful. Probably their recent promotion or a dunking of a K30 in water or a pimp of either the MX1 or GR. Something to appeal to the masses and not specifically toward existing folks who know what Pentax is all about.

However...if they *are* going to announce something awesome, then the lens price hike would make sense since people would be heading in droves to buy Pentax.

I seriously doubt it will stray too far from my MX1/GR/K30 prediction.

( I would LOVE to be wrong)

Ah, I figured it out. Good Morning America does an "Ultimate Deals and Steals" segment in which it highlights certain products/deals across the range of consumer goods. Like yesterday they had deals on kitchenware, and earlier they had Mother's Day gift deals. These are one-day-only "secret"-deals, and this website link below provides information about the particular deal and the GMA-exclusive promo code that must be used on a particular day to get the lowered price.
