Again, that price might drop just like Da* 50-135 f2.8 and k20d camera.

Will wait for that time to come and thanks for notifying this news. I had been checking bhphoo for this lens last few weeks.

wondering if the DA* 300mm will ever drop to $1000.00USD. The 50-135mm was almost $1000USD when it was release and I pulled the trigger when it hit $750.

I would not doubt that the price would make it down to ~$1000 range for the DA* 300/4. The DA* 200/2.8 has not been out very long and it's down a couple hundred dollars already from $1099.

Agreed- the price will inevitably drop to the low $1000 range.

Personally, however, I'm sticking to my FA* 300's- the F2.8 and the F4.5 After having acquired the DA* 50-135, I'm not at all fascinaed by the new SDM focusing system, although the lens itself is wonderful. The SDM is just what I expected- a quieter focusing system, but IMO, its speed is about the same, and its not as easy to use as the FA* clamp focusing switch.
