Lightroom 1.4 now available...

Adobe has released updates to Photoshop Lightroom (Mac|Win) and the Photoshop Camera Raw (Mac|Win) plug-in, both available immediately for download from Adobe.com or via the Adobe Update Manager (choose Help->Updates from within Lightroom or Photoshop).
The releases provide added raw file support for nine additional digital cameras, including the Pentax K20D!!!
Yeah, no more shooting in RAW DNG!!!

The ACR update has solved all of the appalling effects I saw in Bridge and camera Raw from my K20 DNGs under artificial light, especially at ISO 400 upwards. Thank you for the tip.

Major changes are reflected on the first digit. The second digit usually relates to minor updates or builds, so it is exactly the way it should be

Unless you fancy things like "Version 1.3b Build 2234", of course.

Thanks for the heads up. The updated printer support for Mac OS X Leopard is the important benefit for me. BTW, the previous Mac version was 1.3.1, so they do provide x.x.x minor-minor upgrade when they feel it is appropriate.

May I slightly disagree?

The usual habit is a three digit versioning with <major>.<minor>.<patchlevel> with:
<patchlevel>: no new features, bugs fixed.
<minor>: new features, replaces previous minor release.
<major>: new features, backwards compatibility in risk, consider side-by-side installs.

So, the new formats supported must have been considered as "new features" then

Would you consider them bug fixes?

Adobe has withdrawn the latest updates to Lightroom and Camera Raw.

For details see Lightroom Journal: Important Lightroom 1.4 and Camera Raw 4.4 Update for comments by Tom Hogarty (Lightroom, Camera Raw & DNG Product Manager for Adobe).

I was coming here to post this information. Couldn't for the life of me figure out why I kept getting 1.3.1 vice 1.4. It was a vicious cycle until I clicked "new downloads" and rec'd the redirect to the notice.

Well, that was a pain in the ***. I can't believe Adobe let that one through.
