Swedish distributor hints at new products

Found this on the swedish site for Pentax Fotoprodukter med unik vädertätning och kompromisslös bildkvalitet - PENTAX Photo :

"Hösten 2010 köpte Ricoh kameradelen av Pentax, och med det kom det in stora resurser till utveckling av nya modeller. Nu kommer de första frukterna av det. Två nya systemkameror på en och samma gång, och i höst är det mer på gång."

My translation:
In fall 2010 Ricoh bought the camera division of Pentax, and with this came big resources for development of new products. Now we can see the first fruits of this. Two new DSLR's at the same time, and this fall there's more on the way.

Taken from: Pentax ökar takten - PENTAX Photo

Note: The "two new DSLR's" they talk about here is of course the K-50 and K-500.

You can normally tell when a new product is about to be introduce. The price of the current line starts to be reduced in order to clean out the inventory, i.e. the price drop on the K-30 and the introduction of the K50 and K500. Start saving your money and watch for the price reductions on the K-5II and K5IIs.

I can confirm the translation and it fits well with my prediction of top models announcements on PhotoPlus International Expo + Conference | Trade Show, October 24-26, 2013 | PhotoPlus Expo or similar. The beginner don't care about photo expo's while the enthusiasts/pro's follow them. Also the months before Christmas are way better time for expensive electronics than summertime.

That sounds like a voice of reason... credit debt is bad after all

As reported here, a Pentax Dealer Rep said to a member who visited the big Pentax Warehouse Clearance Sale last spring, "Good things are coming."

And so it begins.

If you can't find someone else to save for your Christmas gift, might as well do it yourself. Don't ask me, though. I'm trying to find enough change in the couch to get the Q boxed set ....

If this prophecy fails to become true, we have an excuse at least; the year of Pentax acquisition was 2011, not 2010.

No, it's better to give than to receive... you should start saving for a present for ME!
