fstoppers preproduction review of Sigma 18-35mm.

You will find the review here: Fstoppers Reviews the Sigma 18-35mm f/1.8 DC HSM Art Lens | Fstoppers.
I wish he would have compared this to both the SIgma 17-50 and Tamron 17-50 in terms of sharpness and overall IQ. Also, this is the perfect range for anime conventions.

I think it is the perfect range for almost any indoor event, unless it's a huge hall.

??
I often find even my 16-50 a bit short for weddings etc. Lucky I have the 50-150 on another camera but I think this 18-35, will only "suffice" for weddings, because of the f1.8, I will definitely notice the drop in zoom.

^ +1
If the image quality is seriously good then I will have to make it work, but I would have loved a little more reach.

This is spot on. There is very little faith among the brand loyalists.
I have lots of faith in pentax, that they will release the most out of place product at the weirdest time, but not the one that people want the most

To be fair though, for the most part Pentax have "completed" the digital K-mount with the most used lenses for most people all the DA, DA*, DA Limited, and FA Limited as it is right now should really cover everything that 95% of shooters need.

I think 1/250 flash sync is more important

Sometimes when you choose to side with an underdog, you discover that the underdog is in that position for a reason.

But you choose the side with an underdog because of a reason, perhaps a good one.

I've never liked reading Lori Grunin's reviews on CNET. She's usually so anti-Pentax. Even in this review, she mentions that Sony has in-body shake reduction but doesn't say anything about Pentax.
