Preordered this product in August. Got an uncomfirmed shipping date from the retailer. 31st of March. Why oh why! We where promised this lens from sigma in November 2013=(
And it isn't in Pentax mount, which is too bad.

Accidentally quoted you, not the post before yours. Oops. Here's what I meant to quote when complaining about it not being in Pentax mount:

Well, I'm now on the pre-order list too.
We'll see how long before it comes.

emailed sigma... "unfortunately this lens has been pushed back several times by our parent company. As of last week, we are expecting them to come in late April. However, that could possibly change again."

I'll keep my preorder active, but I"ll go buy other stuff in the mean time.

ah, wtf Sigma?!
Why is it taking so long, the PK mount isn't even a particularly complicated mount, it's not even badly documented.

I'm guessing it's selling well enough in Canon/Nikon mounts to keep the production line at 100%. No use in intro'ing Pentax until it's sub 100%.

Yup, I feel the same way...picked up a used DA* 50-135 the other day to dull the pain.

I picked up a Nikon 135mm f2.0

I may get the 20-40 Limited next depending on how long this takes....

Exactly. Why would they introduce the Pentax/Sony/whatever version when they can't keep up with the demand?

It doesn't cost them anything to announce a K-mount version early, and may keep some people hanging on instead of buying something else (such as the 20-40).

Yes it does, if only a bit. You don't wanna have a ncie optics plagued with QC problems. And you need to QC each mount.
Second, they're probably unsure of the quantity they can sell for PK. This is a lot easier for Canikon (it's not just but sill true IMO).
Then, vendors will stock the lens for Canikon without problem. Would you, as a vendor, stock that very specialized lens for PK ? I'm not sure I would.

Finally, they said it would come so it is announced, isn't it ? The problem is when. Well, after the rush from Canikon. That's it.

The wait is frustrating, but as long as they actually do release a Pentax version I'll be contented. Look at how long it took them to release the new 30mm 1.4 for Pentax, but they eventually did. At least it's not a situation like Tamron, where they seem to have made a business decision to no longer release new lenses for the K-mount.

Of course the wait is frustrating, I would like to either.
Indeed all signs point to a release for PK in couple weeks/months and yes Tamron is a no-go before they change their mind.
Tamron (as Tokina) IMO sells a lot less than Sigma so it may be difficult to justify the cost. Same for Zeiss, even though the company profile is obviously different the basic problem is the same I think.

Perhaps I will no longer want this lens, my Tamron 17-50 is sufficient enough, with Sigma's release of the 30/1.4 Art, I think that easily solves my go to lens for lowlight without hurting my wallet.
