a quick check at B&H shows the Nikon and Canon variants are backordered. The sony version is not yet released. So I'd say the Pentax version is being put on the back burner once again so Sigma can fill other orders.

Will the new Pentax 1.4x converter work with this lens? I assume it will makes this a 25.2-49mm. What effect would it have on f value?

If this eBay listing is to be believed, this lens is already released for Pentax in Japan: Sigma 18 35mm F1 8 DC HSM for Pentax from Japan 085126210564 | eBay

Hopefully it'll be released to the rest of the world very soon.

1) Unlikely to work; likely to interfere between rear of lens and front of T/C. But who knows.
2) Sure? Haven't double checked your #'s.
3) 1.8*1.4 = F/2.5

Good news: Finally first Sigma 18-35mm f/1.8 A-mount lenses in Stock! | sonyalpharumors

Sony A-mount stock is showing up. I would expect K-mount stock to be shipping very soon.

That same seller has the Pentax version listed as well. Hopefully Sigma is doing worldwide distribution, instead of filling backorders in Japan first.

I really hope I get it before some events I have planned in mid-June. I preordered this lens on day 1. It's now 337 days and counting.

I also pre-ordered on day 1, the wait has been painful.
I'll feel much better once this lens is listed at a few more retailers besides this single ebay store.

The news that this lens would probably (and now almost certainly) be released for Pentax K-mount is basically one of the major motivators to ditch the Canon platform (I've got a 30D but I'm not heavily invested in lenses.) and move over to the K3 - the lenses on the Pentax side are generally more affordable and perform just as well - but this guy is a seriously exciting piece of glass. I'd love to get one and have a play!

I hope you are right bit I'll still use B & H Photos site as a guide. I have pre ordered this lens from B & H so I'll believe its in stock when I get the shipping notice

For what it's worth, an SA-mount 18-35 Art appeared from an eBay seller in Japan about 2 weeks before I got my own from B&H, so maybe the K-mount version is only a week or two away. But, that K-mount listing Cannikin linked to was removed "because the item is no longer available," not because it sold. Maybe it was a mistake...
