Hello Josef,
The Pentax version of the lens won’t be out until next year but it will have the same build quality as the Canon and Nikon versions. The lens is sealed for dirt and moisture but not waterproof, it lacks the required “Check Valve” needed for air enter and escape while in use.
Yours Truly,

Thanks much. Been watching this lens and drooling. My bank account thanks you as well! Now I can rest and keep using my faithful 16-45 that I bought from a mad scientist......

The Nikon mount isn't coming until December now. Pentax will announce a full-frame body before this lens ships in Pentax mount, at which point I will have no use for an APS-C lens.

Let's hope the K-3 helps Sigma add Pentax to all the telephoto Primes and Zooms - that would be great.

I'm thinking they may do a back-flip on that release date once the K3 gets some traction, what a great pair they would make!

When will it be available? From Sigma:

"Good afternoon,

Unfortunately at this time, we are not expecting our first shipment of this lens until late February at the earliest. I am very sorry for the inconvenience.

Please let me know if you have any questions. Have a great day!

Best regards,

Agree, but that only applies to FF buyers. People like me who will still cling on to K5 or K3 for a while until the new FF price drops will need that 18-35.
