Agree, but that only applies to FF buyers
of which I am not one so I'm really looking forward to getting my hands on this lens.

I would have considered this but the price tag over here is 999 eur, or 1300+ $ (yes, in Pentax mount), and it doesn't even give me 16mm. Not worth it.

I don't know where you are from but in Romania the price it's a little under 800 Euro (yes: Pentax mount.. of course it's not yet available). I suggest searching for other places to get it.

Best regards,
Ciprian

He's from Germany, and he should easily be able to find better prices... not the product, though, as the K-mount version AFAIK is not yet on the market. I recommend using price search engines like idealo.de

I've had one of these on preorder for SA-mount for a while now, and I asked Sigma USA about it last night. This was the response:

We are scheduled to receive our first shipment of this lens next week. We are supposed to get enough to cover all backorders so you should expect it soon!
So, they're finally starting to move on mounts other than Canon. I'm excited!

Oh, I just noticed it says "preorder", so apparently it's not yet available. I didn' notice that when I looked at it. As long as it's in the EU I don't care where it is. I will wait to see how the prices develop, but that seems like a lens I would love to own.

After the review of the Limited DA Zoom and Blunty's 18-35 review for this lens in Canon mount I preordered the Sigma now in PK mount.

I contacted Sigma USA today, via their web site, regarding the Pentax version of the 18-35mm. It should hit B&H and/or Adorama by the end of Feb:

Hello Robert,

We have been informed the lens should ship by the end of February.

Yours Truly,

Paul Pizzano

Sigma Corporation of America

Don't get too excited about the lens being released at the end of Feb. That's what they have been saying for the last three months.

Don't get your hopes up for February...I'm told the production plan and shipping dates for the Sony and Pentax versions of the 18-35 are not even set in stone yet.
There is a new loosey-goosey ETA of April.

uh bummer... Well let's just hope it comes, would be a pity if they cancled the lens for the PK mount.
