ok, so pentax become a purely color painter, no new tech new product, just repaint the old ones.

I thought they discontinued it a while ago? How come they release another version now?!

having said that... Change the blue to a strong dark-ish red and I might be going out and buying my second K-01

Does this mean a new firmware upgrade, or maaaaaybe even a K-02? Or does this mean what it is, a new colour and that's it?

The blue is really pretty. It would be great if they didn't really discontinue the line.

Well I like it and after all that Pentax has gone through with the K-01 they must have a sense that this will sell in the Japanese market.

Didn't Newson or someone else mention when it was first launched that there were more colours coming down the line? I even recall something along the lines that one of his original versions was blue (I assume this one), but they decided to go with just the yellow, black and white/silver three to start with.

My theory:
Pentax HQ has a ton of Panda/Stormtrooper K-01's left over from the fire sale that no body wanted, so somebody had the bright idea to rip off all of the black rubber and replace it with baby blue.
