I just noticed this on the Pentax Lens Roadmap and have not seen it discussed here. Pentax will be producing a new TC that supports SDM. Also the new 30mm has now been listed as a DA*. No release dates on either.

Actually, I just noticed that pentax updated the roadmap today. They gave the availability date of Summer 2008 to both the 17-70 and 60-250, listed the 200 as shipping and the 300 as a future lens (with no projected availability date). Interesting that there have been some leaks that say the 55-300 will be available before this summer (if my memory is not failing me). That leaves only the DA 15 limited and DA*30 to be announced later. I can't wait to see what other lenses pentax will be developing.

And the DA 35mm Macro Limited is listed as a current DA lens, not a future one or with a "targeted availability".

The DA* 200mm is also a current lens. As is the DA 18-55 II -- that replaced the discontinued DA 18-55?

I read May as the DA55-300 target date. It's name isn't tentative. Neither is the DA 300's. Maybe these will be released soon.

And still no aperture for the DA 15 Limited or the DA* 30. Nor any new information on the rear converter for SDM.

PS: And I really like the non-traditional focal lengths. It helps to not think of these lenses in 35mm film terms.

Hey, so they did. Looks like we can expect it to be updated quarterly with some regularity. Still no aperture info for the DA★ 30mm SDM, though.

And the place where I usually buy camera accessories already lists the 60-250mm (no availability date, of course)... No mention of the 17-70mm or any of the others. Makes one wonder about how close we really are to the release date of the 60-250mm...

that 60-250 is the one i really am waiting on. would love to hear what the expected cost would be.....
though, i am also willing to consider the 55-300. i know. total opposite ends of the spectrum...but part of it is my desire for long glass, and part of it is my love of the star line.

my wallet would be happier i think, with the 55-300....whenever that comes out

What I'm looking for is the SDM line of lenses (for my K20D). Unfortunately the 2.8 ones are "a bit" expensive. What do you guys think, can the 60-250 f/4 be used for indoor sports photography and if so, how much will the lens cost (I know, but still)?

30mm on APS-C is a killer

No rumors, i'm using an M42 prime with that focal lenght...it's a-little-wider-than-a-normal but-not-so-wide, very flexible in every situation. With SDM and "star" quality it'll be amazing!
