This is the handiest time converter I've used:

Time Converter - Conversion at a Glance - Pick best time to schedule conference calls, webinars, online meetings and phone calls.

The Ricoh IPA thing will be happening 11pm EST here. I may miss it though, alas, since I will be shooting a gig tonight.

Not worth waiting up for if it's just that 360degree camera thingy. Seems the K-5 successor is not going to be revealed tomorrow after all.... maybe in a couple of weeks then?

Most puzzling part of all this is that IFA is the consumer electronics show, not a photography expo. That someone will launch a 645D successor and lenses surrounded with ranges of new refrigerators, vacuum cleaners, coffee machines and home appliances, sounds totally crazy.

On the other hand, in a major photography show in the western hemisphere — PhotoPlus Expo in New York in October – Ricoh isn't even exhibiting.

Go figure.

They have nothing new to show, or they have so little money available to the camera division they can't afford to waste it on show floor space? Will they even have a K-5 successor out this year I wonder? I'm beginning to doubt even that. Maybe I'm a bit glass half full today.

I think that stop holding a spy glass above their obscure public movements and statements, and stopping to look at the watch, is the best remedy.

Expos:

EUROPEAN & WORLDWIDE

Internationale Funkausstellung Berlin:
IFA had more than 100,000 visitors in 2007 and then was the world's largest trade fair. It especially appeals to European retailers and purchasers - almost everyone is represented in Berlin. In addition, the IFA remains a "public event", which offers interested consumers a lot of information and entertainment.

Photokina - the world's largest trade fair for the photographic and imaging industries - is only held biennially. IFA seems to fill this gap. E.g. Canon has its own tent at IFA every second year.

EUROPEAN

The next interesting expo in Europe would be the "Salon de la Photo 2013" (November 7-11) in Paris:
http://cepic.org/events/2013/03/salon_de_la_photo_2013
http://cepic.org/congress/2013/programme
PENTAX RICOH IMAGING FRANCE was present there in 2012:
PENTAX RICOH IMAGING FRANCE S.A.S - Salon de la Photo
https://www.pentaxforums.com/forums/general-photography-industry/204664-penta...to-2012-a.html
Please note that PENTAX RICOH IMAGING FRANCE nowadays is the European headquarters of PENTAX RICOH IMAGING COMPANY, LTD.

JAPAN

The next interesting expo in the home-market of Ricoh probably is "CP+ 2014" (February 13-16) in Yokohama:
CP+ CAMERA & PHOTO IMAGING SHOW 2014
However, this event is months away.

Question:

So, if a new product has to be announced in a not too distant future, how would you proceed?
Even if only 1% of the about 100,000 visitors is really interested in your products, this would result in 1,000 likely buyers.
Furthermore, there is free advertising in newspapers, commercial spots etc.
There are lots of announcements at IFA:
IFA - Press Dates
But only three [!] will be available as live video:
IFA-TV
The contact for the interview is a Senior Account Manager at a leading global public relations agency (Weber Shandwick).

CURRENTLY RUNNING (it is now 12:24 pm in Germany)
IFA - PHILIPS Press Conference
[Pieter Nota (Philips CL CEO und Executive Vice President)]

"Video on demand" of the SONY press conference:
IFA - SONY Press Conference
[Kazuo Hirai (President and CEO, Sony Corporation)]

It is time indeed, but I am not getting anything from that podcast. Just the intro music and then a revolving circle.

I suggest you give it a rest. I heard from someone attending that there was only the Theta on show there.

Unfortunately, the press conference features the THETA 360 (partner Microsoft: "revolution in photography"): IFA-TV
Additionally, the Ricoh booth seems to be pretty small and targeted towards this product.
Maybe not even the existing Pentax products are shown.
