It is officially announced but they said: " Lenses can be converted to any mount of a photographer’s choosing, as long as Sigma has released that product in the requested mount.". So we will not have the possibility to convert a 120-300mm or 180mm Macro .

The 120-300 is a shame indeed! I've been hoping since it was announced that it may come some day for Pentax. Esp since there's no real alternative IMHO.

The 180 macro is nice, but I must admit that I'm glad I still managed to purchase one of the last new copies of the f/3.5 version of that lens that *was* made for Pentax in the past (according to the salesman I got the very last copy B&H had in stock, back in 2009). f/2.8 vs f/3.5 isn't really relevant for macro, and f/2.8 makes the lens bigger and heavier. So on the whole I prefer the f/3.5 to the newer version. Perhaps you might locate one second hand?

A future version of 70-200/2.8 will most likely be, but they need to design the lens with mount replacement in mind.
Which is why only a limited amount of lenses is available for it at the moment. But the list of mount replacable lenses will grow when new updated lenses are released.

I must have a reading disability so bear with me. I was just at the page of the official announcement. I can understand why we can't convert a 180mm macro but the 120-300mm F/2.8 is an attractive option. Here is a quote from that page:

"Current, applicable full-frame lenses include the 120-300mm F2.8 DG OS Sport"

Personally, I am waiting to see their redesign of the 300mm F/2.8 prime lens as it should feature a form of optical stabilization.

+1. In the Pentax RoadMap, there is a lens for this year (120-400mm?): http://www.pentaximaging.com/files/pdf/lens_roadmap.pdf.

I agree for the macro lens. I'm lucky in that case. After 2 years, I found one on this forum. I hope that you will find one too.

Regards.

I want to watch this deal as I didn't pick up a 50-150 2.8 during clearance. And I don't see much sign that they're thick upon the ground in the used market.
These are actually not hard to come by right here on the forum. I just sold a k-mount version in perfect condition for only $650 just a couple of weeks ago. I think there might still be one available in the marketplace.
