DAL 18-135 and Sigma 150mm macro hope...

I haven't seen this mentioned anywhere else, but it looks like the Pentax DA 18-135 is now coming in a DAL mount on the new pentax K50. https://www.crkennedy.com.au/pentax/index.php?q=node/399

Second, rumors are about that sigma will be announcing mount swapping of lenses, which gives me hope we could yet get a 150mm f2.8 macro in k-mount!

That's actually the DAL 55 - 200 lens they show in the photo.

Canon's latest kit lens upgrade really ups the ante and now sports a DC motor equivalent, similar to the 18-135.

It's possible the 18-135 could drop the WR and go this way as a variant, but that's not what the referring website demonstrates.

AFAIK, the Sigma mount-swapping will only be available between mounts that the lens was originally released in. So if it never was in K-mount, they won't do it.

No, filoxophy is right:

- 4/3 <=> Canon <=> Nikon <=> Pentax <=> Sony for DSLR lenses, provided that the lens exists in the mount requested
- 4/3 <=> Sony E for compact system camera lenses.

It applies only to the most recent lenses, the Art / Contemporary / Sport series.

Well great - I gladly stand corrected!

That's great news for the DA L 18-135. I wonder how cheap they will go? I've always felt that the current DA 18-135 was too pricey by a smidgeon (maybe $50 or so). Used ones are an okay deal. Hopefully the introduction of this new DA L 18-135 will lower the price of the DA version even more.

Suggest you read the whole thread. The evidence Pentax may release a DAL 18-135 WR came from a picture that was found. However, the picture is actually a DAL 55-200 WR lens.
