You're not excluding the case, but you're basing your scenario on it happening. On the short term, i.e. with effect on products launched next year.
Sorry, I can't take your recent posts as anything but FUD.

Plenty of Lenses...?

Well, I remember several days ago we were discussing lens availability.. Anybody want to speculate on new lenses to be announced yet this year...

I'm really hoping to see the 16-85ish that is on the roadmap. What I want is something with the same IQ as the DA*16-50 but I'll gladly give up the f/2.8 and settle for f/4. I've tried using an FA 28-70 f/4 but I just don't get the IQ I want out of it.

Yes
How about a DA 12-28, DA Limited 22-48, DA* 16-85, HD DA 120-380.

For the 645: D-FA 28-45, D-FA 45-85, D-FA 90-200.

This year or next....

Yes... A 16 to 70ish would stop me looking at Sigmas nice 24-70 lens and a DA 120-380 would give me a Pentax birding lens. Those two plus a new 1.4 teleconvertor for the 120-380 and I could stop looking at Sigmas fine 300 2.8 lens. I really would prefer to buy good quality Pentax lenses.

Anyone besides me still looking for a Pentax 1.4 high quality teleconverter that works across the lens line?

Absolutely. First thing in my basket assuming it is not ridiculously priced. I want to pair it with the 60-250. 85-350 sounds pretty good to me.

I intend to be first in the queue in the UK for this! I want to use it on my DA* 300mm f/4, my DA* 60-250mm f/4, and my D-FA 100mm f/2.8 WR Macro.

(Perhaps someone here knows whether you can stack such a Teleconverter? I think I would also like a 2x Teleconverter!)

That distinction just might be the key. In B2B Pentax remains owned by Hoya - all the medical devices. Unlike Sony and KonicaMinolta, Ricoh owns the consumer brand name Pentax.
good point (although not 100% correct - Seiko owns the Pentax name for eyeglasses).
