Attention Canadian shoppers

Mcbain Camera is having a sale on Pentax gear. Mcbain is a reputable Edmonton based chain.

McBain Camera | Foto Source | Shop Online for New and Used Digital Cameras, SLR, and Photography Equipment at Guaranteed Lowest Prices in Canada

There is a manufacturer's rebate of $100 on the K20 and $50 on the K200+kit lens.

There is also an ad in the Thursday March 20 newspaper on lenses + flashes.

FA31 $899
DA21 $549
DA70 $549
FA43 $449
DFA50 Macro $410
FA77 $649
DFA100 Macro $519
DA200 $1099
DA16-50 $899
DA50-135 $999
DA16-45 $369
DA18-250 $529
DA50-200 $199
AF540FGZ $469
AF360FGZ $269

If you are out of province don't forget you only pay total consumption tax of 5% GST in Alberta. An added bonus if you are used to paying PST.

I'm unrelated to the store. Just a customer.

I hope some day there is an online store similar to "prodigital2000" from out of ONTARIO, I will be the first one to buy from them. And I still do not understand why the camera stores in the West can not even come close to the price that prodigital 2000 offers.

Do anyone know if McBain Camera can price match with prodigital2000? Thanks,

Those prices are good from McBain, but even if you go into a local Henrys they will normally lower the price if you as them to. As for prodigital2000, I think they have had the lowest prices even after the discounted items at henrys.

I'm puzzled.

I'd assume "out of Ontario" would mean "shipping from Ontario", but prodigital2000 is based in Stratford, Ontario. Maybe I misunderstand and the point is "based outside of Ontario" to avoid provincial sales tax?

Speaking of which, I just dodged Ontario tax by buying from Henrys online for delivery to Quebec! Ha ha ha! Ooh, I hope no Quebec tax officials are spying on this forum, to make me pay Quebec sales tax on my order!

Same prices as Henry's flyer this week. With the exception that the DA21 and 70 are $50 MORE at Henry's.

You would be getting a better deal by saving on the PST but you would also be paying for shipping.

The K20D BODY is selling for 1400.00 at Henry's

Dsvid, that is what I meant, that 8% PST adds up quickly if your purchase is in excess of 1K.

JC, shipping from "thecamerastore" in Calgary is only 10 bucks each item. That is pretty reasonable. Still cheaper than Henrys. I just find so many excuses for no purchasing anything from Henrys somehow; I don't mind partonizing our local camera store, but my wallent tells me otherwise.
