Och well, I guess I can always spend my money on Sigma's 17-70. Seems to be very good as well.
On the roadmap is a TC to give sonic ability. So it might make the lens bigger, but it should make it possible for you to use it on a regular K100 DSLR

I don't think it will have the sealing like the DA* lenses. Canon had a bunch of USM lenses, which were not sealed, as I understand it.
I expect some dust sealing, but not fully gasketed
