Those are not "normal" focal lengths by any stretch. At best, as mentioned, the 55 is a slight telephoto. Pentax is missing two of the major "classic" focal lengths: the 35 and 50.
50mm vs 55mm.....that's really not a huge difference. I used a 55/1.2 (Zuiko) as my normal lens for a decade, and you really can't tell the difference to a 55mm in terms of perspective. It's not like between a 15mm and a 20mm where 5mm makes a world of difference.

Make it 24/1.4 to really match the DA*55 and I might agree with you

Well, it suites me too. Let's make it like that then.

You'll need a bigger tripod.

I'd also need a bigger bag....and, likely a physician's appointment for my back...

Would be a really cool lens, though. I'd buy it in a heartbeat.

Let me guess...that workout program will involve bench-pressing that very lens, will it?

Or you can pick up a Pentax MX and an FA 35... there's your 24mm/1.4! Lighter than K-5 with DA 40 attached. Too bad the noise is usually very harsh from around iso 800.

Next up you will be suggesting canvas and brush, I'm sure.....?
Scratch that, next up from what you suggest would be chisel and cave wall....

You'll need to knock out a wall and taken out a 2nd mortgage to get that Hasselblad scanner to do it all justice.

I'm suggesting that a used 5D + 35mm/2 is lighter than a hypothetical 24mm/1.4 APS C lens... FA 24mm/2 and Sigma 24mm/1.8 is plenty big already. If you really need that range, that's the better option, and you can even get it today

Well it is not just that simple. First thing would naturally be that I have one lens for my self to make this work out plan. Then I'll make careful plans of usage with that kens and plan exact movements wich done as I have researched, will prevent most of accidents and stretching a muscle during a shoot.

It would take aproximatelly 6 month until I'm finished with flagship camera and lens combination research.

In other words, yes bench-pressing.

IF that is done under exactly the same circumstances (read exact same focus point), then I would say the improvement is significant.
