I sure hope so! I would buy a silver GR and DSLR and a few silver limiteds to with them :-) I like the silver look, also more resistant to scratches from my experience.

Well I see this as good news / bad news:

Good that their marketing dept is not actually brain dead and is working every corner of the company for profits.
Bad that it makes LBA that much more expensive!

step 1 - how to establish better profit margins = enforce higher fixed pricing at retail outlets (at least in US)
step 2 - how to convert used lens sales to new lens sales = minor changes to existing primes will steer new buyers to new lenses at new and better margins for pentax.
step 3 - the newer and lower priced bodies drive sales of new lenses at the new prices and pentax profits nicely.


We live in interesting times..my k5iis is my favorite camera of all time (and i started with the daguerreotype ) and i look forward to what ever they have up their kimono sleeves next!

And since I am in LBA Recovery, I will not be replacing any of my 4 Limiteds!

I think prices are a bargain for the incredible value of these lenses.
C'mon Pentax, make me a classically shaped DSLR with a bright pentaprism to suit these babies and I can retire.

This is not even Sept, so we are just beginning to see a trickle of releases, starting with the small stuff (flash; lens coating; Ricoh pns)

I'm eager to see what comes out later next month.

Red does copy Canon's L range, but the colour doesn't bother most (though like many the green was fine)
I seriously doubt the new coatings will make much difference real world, though I don't object to them.
Rounded aperture blades again no complaints here.

But the real problem:
We'll see how the street prices hold up but that's not looking good IMO
Anyone want to pay nearly £600 for a f3.2 lens? No takers though not ;-)
