Tomorrow we are taking off for four days of photography with mulitple formats and shooting film, digital and paper. I can live with waiting for four days to find out about a major revolutionary announcement and I can also live with waiting four days and finding out that the only announcement was they were re-seeding the lawn in front of their offices. Having a grizzley fill my frame totally when I got the 10-20 Sigma on the K-r I might not be able to live with.

I hope you've rented a 500mm for that shot!

No when I know I am going to be shooting bears I use a Nikon for the reason that I can borrow either a 200-400 or a 400 2.8 and that beats renting. A couple of years ago in Grand Teton I did shoot a young Grizzly sow at 10mm. That was only for sending to my friend whose lenses I borrowed as he told be that a wide angle would be good enough. She did not fill the frame even at 400mm on a D200 but was enjoyable enough to watch as she eat napped eat crapped and eat some more When we got home and I looked at the one image I asked myself why did I take this and what is it of and then remembered that a tiny speck was a bear

Tomorrow will be a big day. I hope for introduce K3 revolutionary model.
Why would they spend time/money aligning their APSC dslr camera lineup with the '5' in the name just to introduce an APSC dslr camera that does not?

If anything, I'd suspect they'd release another K-5 in the form of a mk 3... but not for awhile..

I'm sure the 40.75mm and the 42.25mm are both in development.
Erm.... Dude, i think you think too lowly of Pentax.. Stop that...

They'll be announcing DA*41.1mm-42.9mm Limited zoom. Marketed to be flexible and yet the smallest and lightest zoom then.

And you guys are wrong too.. They'll just be spending the time there just trumpeting of the new HD coating updates, followed by the ever-eagerly-awaited-for-future-plans that they are working on making the DA Limiteds WR, which will launch next year.

K3? FF?

I've been using K1 FF for quite a while already?
It was made to take Pentax M42 lenses only though....

I'm betting it's gonna be a Special or Limited Edition GR. No more Pentax this round since the K50/K500 were just announced quite recently, and K5II/K5IIs are not a year old yet.

But the question is: Will we see any new Pentax anytime soon? We already know there won't be a Pentax FF ever. Maybe they'll revamp the 645D now: Exactly the same machine, with improved AF, a red marking somewhere, and some lables moved around. Then they have updated all products within "brand new" ones and can call it a day for the comming year or two.
