We don't even know which manufacturer is making the prime II or Prime M? So why would Pentax use a Fujitsu chip en not one by any of the other ARM licensees?
That would be Fujitsu; PRIME II is a Milbeaut M5, according to Pentax hack info. Prime M could be a Fujitsu MB91696AM, as it supports H264 encoding.
I'd say the MB86S22AA is a good candidate.

"30 percent lower power consumption and roughly twice the processing performance compared to the existing products..." as per Fujitsu.

That's more shots (or power available for wifi/3g/GPS applications) per battery charge.

Well an update for the PRIME II would be great, if it is superior to the PRIME M then the next toplevel aps-c camera can do some new tricks.

Actually I think we do know the Prime M is Fujitsu-based - unfortunately it is considered very poor form here to link the source of that information.

Hint: A cereal grain that grows at high elevation.

(High enough, apparently, to cause hypoxic dementia.)

I have a better source (in fact I mentioned it before): Welcome to Pentax Hack
They actually worked on decrypting and disassembling Pentax firmware.

K-7, K-5, K-5 II(s) and the 645D share the Prime II processor.

New upcoming Pentax flagship will surely use this chip:

FUJITSU LIMITED : Fujitsu Releases New Milbeaut

24MP @ 12 FPS

The Gen 6 processor is used in the k-5 and Nikon d7000/7100. The Gen 6 can only accommodate 24MP @ 5 FPS (hence the D7100 being crippled with a 2X crop mode at higher frame rates)

The specs otherwise seem a bit conservative, especially compared to Sony and Panasonic who have been doing 1080p 60p for a few years now.
And an image from this chip (image Fujitsu)

K-3 rumors started before Ricoh ever bought Pentax. Work on the K-5 successor had to have started as soon as the original K-5 was released. My guess is that Ricoh put the brakes on the project and we got the K-5II.

Will Pentax keep the K-5 line going with a K-5III and bring out a higher spec'ed K-3?

Hi everybody!
In one month the k3 24 Mpx will be announced. New AF with more focusing points. It's a fact.
For all you need a Full Frame camera, you'll have to wait to mid 2014.

Best regards

This is interesting if true. What is your source?

I will wait for the specs on the K3 before deciding between it and a K5iis (keeping one base K5 as a second body anyways).

Hi, for you it's a fact. Do you have some official informations ?
So, it would be kind of you to share it.

People are waiting and hoping to hear something serious, not this kind of fake "informations".

Erm... Clarifications in some of the points:

1) Announcement don't mean s**t until the actual product is shown, especially coming from Pentax. (they can announce 1 gigapixel sensor, no one cares until it materializes)

2) More AF point with dinner plate sized AF area is still retarded

3) I believe you have it wrong here... Coming from Pentax or Ricoh or whatever related to Pentax, they mean year 2041 or it could actually mean you'll have to wait another 2014 years for it to come.

Summarily, just shoot with whatever you have and/or can afford. Be it crop, m4/3, FF or MF.

If you really want FF, it's here already but they have another name for it, Canon/Nikon or CaNikon in short.
