The intimate connection between camera and smart phone in the Theta is very interesting. Starting to see a lot of that nowadays.

I'm curious to know if there is any way to take images on the Theta with a timer. The camera itself seems to have no self timer, neither does the smart phone app.

No timer, but you can trigger the shutter remotely using an iPhone. So you set up the camera, hide behind a bush, and press the button. In my pic, I'm triggering it from under the table with my phone.

Aha. Thanks for that info.

That's kind of how I was thinking of using it too - using the Theta for wildlife could produce some very interesting scenes. And it is so small and unobtrusive.

I bet it would also produce some cool and exciting shots at rock concerts.

Hmmm. How much does it cost it again?

By the way, crowd shots is one of the reasons I bought this camera. You can't stitch moving people doing multiple image panoramas. It has to be one click. I got one of those "selfie sticks" that tourists use to take pictures of themselves, and I plan to extend it up like a mast overhead to take a shot of a big crowd at Disneyland or a ball game or something.

It dawned on me the other day that I actually have a legitimate use for this thing even though I laughed when I first saw the announcement. Unfortunately it clearly does not have a high enough resolution to suit my needs.

....maybe I will wait for the FF version.

Edit: Legitimate use OTHER than capturing precious moments with roast chickens.
