Firmware upgrade coming for ALL Pentax Cameras!?

Someone mentioned this on the other site:

http://www.pentax.ru/ru/news/2571/news.html

Checked with the US Tech Support, they have no information. The press release is dated today (unless they meant Nov. 09 2013 )

The firmware numbers are indeed incremental (1.05 for K-5II, 1.15 for K-5 and so on, the list includes all the Pentax Digital Cameras released thus so far in all formats)

Any information on this ? For what its worth, I think its a firmware upgrade to change the start-up screen to show Ricoh-Imaging on everthying Pentax

Maybe they finally tested flash on a K-5 and found some issues 😊

The new firmware will add support for the HD limiteds and the new flashes.

Inital tests do seem to show on camera bounce has been tamed.

To early to be conclusive as my flash battery died after a few tests..

Installed 1.04 on my K-01, nothing seems different. As far as I can tell it's just as Adam says, new flash and lens support.

Focusing seems faster on my K-01 but that's most likely my imagination.
