As an aside, there sure do seem to be more than the usual number of Wanted posts for A* and FA* long lenses and FA* ZOOM's the last few weeks.

Until just recently there was no inventory at JCO on eBay and current prices are firm.

And then there are those stunning prices for the rare stuff at KEH.

In my business price predictions are free. If you want to know what sellers and buyers think, look at Supply and Demand.

It's amazing that the words PENTAX are relatively sharp while the rest is out of focus.... If it is supposed to be a full frame, why isn't the pentaprism dome larger? Another thing... why would a so-called full frame professional camera have a green setting on the settings knob unless Pentax thinks that pros are lazy?... lol

I thought about that, too, but as zero is neither even nor odd (or is it both?), I imagine it would probably appear as a special edition. Perhaps it would only be used as a leading zero, as in K-01 etc, but that's quite another sequence.

In any event, given that zero is a number, it had to be skipped between -1 and +1, to maintain the sequence. You might think we're not being serious with this...
Zero is an even number because it's divisible by 2 What it isn't, is negative or positive :P

You are right, let`s maintain focus and be serious. Than the special edition should be named "Ką0", right?

Err... on second thought, that doesn`t sound like a high precision machine, does it?
No. That would be Ką0.0000

Hmm... I believe you are correct. Perhaps we should introduce the K-i as it's an imaginary (unreal, as in i^2 = -1) product yet.

Adam... well, I'd agree that with many retail electronics/tech mfg's, giving out release dates on "upgraded" gear is just not something marketing wants to do, for the obvious reasons (sales). My greatest concern was "price point." I was going to buy the body before leaving for Brasil last month, and put it off. We just got home, and I've got some application photos to take on my more recent project work in Salt Lake City, and just didn't want to use the K10d again. I've been lucky that my shots are usually used in small publication inserts. So resolution hasn't been an issue. Bottom line, I won't feel bad at all if the new body is FF and $2k. I will think twice if it hits the market at a $1.4k price point. If the price point drops enough, I'd certainly consider trading/selling the K5 iiS and getting the upgrade. If this were a Honda dealer, and we were looking at the Accord...... there'd be an "end of the year" clearance deal waiting for us. Unfortunately, and obviously, these cameras don't come with a 10 year/100,000 mile warranty and free floor mats! :-)

It is very sad that someone apparently has the need to essentially setup the K-3 as a disappointment.

The K-3 will surpass every previous Pentax DSLR, yet for many it will be a disappointment after "rumours" like this one because it will not be an FF camera.

It would be nice if we could just ignore these stupid fakes and rumours -- or at most have a laugh at them -- and rather just enjoy the next Pentax product without having our expectations set to unrealistic levels.

From all the comments, it is clear that the camera in the image cannot possibly meet all the various expectations. It must be the Kd3

Oops - the "d" was the symbol for "approximately" before I pasted it. Poor attempt at humour failed!

MAkes me wonder about the motivation of some of these rumor mongering Posters. As has been said on another thread - there's another word for it.

perhaps the FF, if and when it arrives, should be called the K-∞.

LOL! I find the rumoured specs rather boooorrrrriiiinnnng. Because I, like most people, benchmark against not only other Pentax DSLRs, but other brands and types of cameras too. Only Ricoh is responsible for setting themselves up for a disappointment.

There's more sound coming from those rumor mongering posters then from Pentax.

A positive of these kind of rumours (I guess) is that it may encourage Ricoh to feed us some scraps of real news soon. As it is, all the disinfo currently going around can only damage the brand.
