Pentax should've kept the body they were suppose to release back in 2001.

While I don't want to trust Rice High, these specs look realistic to me, and they don't match any other product currently on the market. If these rumors prove true, it would be a big step forward for Pentax. Let's hope this is real...

The linked page has been corrected, but the content remains in the Google index:

I can only hope the eariler rumor is true as far as the viewfinder goes: 100% coverage, 1.0x magnification.

That would put it as the largest APS-C optical viewfinder out there, surpassing the 7D (which has the same numbers, but smaller sensor), and close to the FF viewfinders of the 6D and D600.

Just in case you weren't aware, it seems Adam knows about it:

There isn't any mention of the type or quantity of memory card slots. Given that USB 3.0 is in the specs, it is most likely a single (but may be dual) SDXC UHS-I card slot. Non-UHS SD cards can't saturate USB 2.0, but UHS-I cards can, so the presence of USB 3.0 implies a faster card interface.

It'll be interested to see what Pentax will be able to come up with after using virtually the same 11-point system for 10 years. I'm not expecting them to pull ahead of the competition, but hopefully the AF will finally be good enough for tracking and high-speed shooting.

this would be amazing.

I've fallen in love with my D800 for flash sync speed alone, and if I get the flash guns out, the D800 comes out.

Even then... Pentax is far behind. Sure they got a wireless flash system that works like Nikon's CLS, but it's no where as user friendly or easy to setup. I had my CLS setup tonight in 5 seconds flat and shooting. while with my AF540FGZ/K5 combo I always got to pull out the manual. I have it as a shortcut on the homescreen of my phone now to go right to the remote settings page. :P

Why? You have a great camera that is waiting for you to reach the 100,000 shutter count mark!

Everything eventually decreases to zero, even used stuff. Think of the some of the first digital cameras released. They're going for as low as $10 nowadays in perfect working order. That's why I think it's important to get as much genuine use out of your goods as possible to make whatever price was paid worthwhile. I got my K-30 in June and the K-50/500 came out soon after. During that time before the updated K's were released I used my K-30 almost daily and learned a lot along the way. I could always say that the price could have gone down but the experience of use during that time was of great value to me. So, I say that K-5 should get a bajillion genuine shutter clicks on it starting.... now! That makes every shot fired almost free!

If the K-3 is real then I suppose we can expect a whole series of #3 named cameras.. K-30 (oops) and K-300? Maybe it is a FF...or would that be a K-1?
