Hmmn, why would this camera be called the K3, if you believe that picture? Hasn't 'K3' such a long history of impossible expectations by now that the name is almost jinxed, with a years' worth of folks asking why it isn't already here, an FF, what have you? Maybe new owners could start a new naming system. Just an idea.

It makes no difference, some people would complain anyway.

It's KZ in Cyrillic.

Looks like a photoshop job to me. Look at the grey and black rings running around the lens. At position 7 o'clock, it looks misaligned. I hope i am wrong, but I will believe a new flagship when I see it.

I hope they price it appropriately - and aggressively.

For comparison purposes, in Australia I can buy a non-grey Nikon D7100 body for $1270 or a D600 body for $2000. If you go grey, you can buy a D7100 for $1050 or D600 for $1650.

If they price it about the same as the D7100, buying a K-3 will be a much easier decision.

Could just be an artefact of an upscaled JPEG.

FotoForensics - Analysis

Pulling out this handy tool once again - looks like standard touching up was only applied to this image - the green ring was enhanced to be greener. The reflection on the front element was added. The gold SR was made more prominent - which makes sense, the shadow around it would've made it darker and harder to see.

Here's to hoping for that 1/250th (or faster ) sync speed, and better TTL for flash!

Looking again, the textured area just below the K-3 seems to be bulging outward, toward the viewer. The same kind of contour if you were reading the label of a AA battery. And then on the edge of the bulge there's a small notch suggesting a flap or cover of some sort. I wonder what that could be?

Got it. Sometimes I forget. I really can't beleive people seriously think this will be a FF camera - they ahve to be joking (or something else).

Should be a really good camera though. Prob. not cutting-edge enough to WOW everybody, but a very strong offering from Ricoh that addresses almost every Pentax shortcoming. Once people figure out that Ricoh is all about constant, incremental improvement in familiar wrappers (body style) they'll understand the brand growth strategy. Whatver remaining shortcomings - will be addressed relatively quickly, I believe.

Won't stop others from crying out for FF, but the APSc crowd (including me) is going to get some really sharp gear.
I think the body design, style and ergonomics of the K-5/7 is hard to beat, it will be THE classic styling of this very era. The form, the compactness, the button placements, the look, incremental improvements here and there, but I think this will be a Pentax template from now on. (I hope) Hard to improve on something so good, but improvements are very much welcome.

If that is the camera, and it retains the batteries and grip, and O-GPS-1 functionality of the K5, I will buy THREE on the first day they are released!!!!

If this is real, then *finally* I will be happy until the FF arrives.

I soooooooooooo hope this is real.

I'm glad it's an evolutionary upgrade. The K-5/II body is the best I've ever used ergonomically—I hope they keep it forever.
