But if the lenses of a supposed new FF camera will not have the aperture ring, they will not be designed as FA, nor DFA. Tehy could have a new designation, or be called simply DA.

For what we know, the DA* 55/1,4 in the roadmap could be even the standard lens of a new FF Pentax. Or even a more-than-FF camera. 55mm is the diagonal of a 33x44mm format, by the way.

No, simply because it is a DA* which means expensive it you won't *ever* produce a "normal standard" lens which would costs 800-1200US$.

Would have been a DA without sealing however, why not.

I'd love a basic MF camera that would take both film and digital backs. That way - one body with two different capture formats. Right now I carry around 2 bodies, a film and a K10D. I could eliminate one whole body and a whole set of lenses, so the overall weight problem would be gone.

You are very close but current development is well beyond that.

I'm for a redesigned body, something like a K20D with integrated grip...a sort of Pentaxian version of Canon's 1D...but with an even larger sensor.

The digital 645 format ball has been dropped by Pentax.

PHASE ONE 645 CAMERA PLATFORM

Why go Pentax when you can go with an established MF digital camera? I think the Pentax/645D is dead.

Edit:
Please note: you can contact them to try out their 645 digital --- TODAY --- not next month, next year or after the next Photo Show -- somewhere. TODAY -- you want it - - go get it. Pentax has dropped the ball.

The Elitist - formerly known as PDL

Actually, a bunch of folks I know have gotten all excited about Mamiya, because of the price point back. If you go to the Mamiya website, the first page is all about their full camera at less than 10 grand, and the ZD back for current owners. They're going for the $10,000 and under buyers.
