MF / AF Only?

Thats lame, i realy do like the fast and good working idea with the lever on my K5, but AF/MF only seems a bit lame for some flagship DSLR...
Did you overlook the AF MODE button above it???

Don't judge the bulge till you know what it's for :P

Besides, forget the looks - what's the specs?!

Seems like the number of icons on the mode-dial are the same. Can only see one button above the power switch - probably a second one to the side just like now. The trusty top-lcd is there too. Aside from that split of the AF switch, there's nothing else different.

It seems to have dedicated AF MODE button, so there might be more options for AF behind that.

I do not care about how it looks, ugly or not, eager to know what's inside!

Could be ergonomics as well. I do sometimes hold my camera on the left side, esp with a pancake lens, and this bulbl may enhance the grip holding the camera that way?

Also an effect of the WA as mentioned by bossa I would say.
[EDIT]Or perhaps not, judging from the comparison posted by Asahiflex...[/EDIT]

Yes, also assuming the flash pop up button is the same size it does look like the prism has got larger.

I would presume that this means a 1.00x magnification. Possibly maybe some extras like an EL overlay - but a 1.00x mag would seem to fit the bill

Of course if the new AF would have more than just the three choices MF/AF-S/AF-C, it would make sense not to have all options on one switch, but add a button to switch between them. The switch is just to be able to activate MF in one go, but I expect the button will cycle between more than two AF modes? Perhaps if we see the back there would be changes to the buttons relating to AF, and more will become clear?

I'd say press down the AF Mode button and use the wheel in the back of camera to quickly switch between AF modes, whatever it is, it's going to be different.

It is what on the inside that counts! :-) Before we rip it apart lets see the specs are and other nice little surprises it holds. I think the bump on the side will help with stability.
