something. The added bulk doesn't seem to make much sense to go from 0.92x to the rumored 0.95x
But maybe a 100% by 1.00x viewfinder ?!
(it was rumored elsewhere)

If with more electronical informations (an electronic layer?) in the E/OVF, it would be great

I bet it's a pneumatic actuator for the mirror, so each time you take a photo, the camera goes *click psshh* *click psshh*.
Or it might be where they store the chocolate bon bons that get distributed every time you nail a shot.

Yes ugly is a word I'd use although it does appear to be a WA shot thus enhancing the bulbous look. They must be hiding something interesting on the back because we've seen no shots of that as yet.

Could also need more room for new autofocus system.
I thought the autofocus sensors were under the mirror, not in the pentaprism housing.

With Pentax I tend to find it's best to ask oneself "what is the bare minimum change that could explain what we see?" and therefore in this case I think a 1.00x viewfinder is what is reasonably to expect - or at least a larger than current one. Whereas added overlay etcs I think are too much to expect.

Get serious.

M&M minis at the most. It's not the size of the D4.

It looks like a k-5 on steroids. Sexy. I really wonder why they enlarged the pentaprism so much.

The bulge houses a new security feature, with retinal scanner and laser cannon...

Put your eye to the camera and if it detects someone other than the owner the laser fires a pulse directly into your eyeball... )

The prism housing surely has grown a lot bigger.
Perhaps it's rather the flash housing that has grown bigger?

LOL!! Despite my post the other day. I think I'm ok with that if they come out with cameras like this.

Maybe they've upsized the sensor to XL-FF, so they had to whack an absolutely HUGE prism in, with a 200% viewfinder. And a coffee grinder.

Indeed. After all a new flash system is also suspected. Could be that it now incorporates a non-optical communication system?

If there is an articulating screen on the back wouldn't there be a sign of it from this angle? & the rounded corners seem inconsistant with this too.
