So nobody thinks it's a hybrid viewfinder, that Pentax patented a while ago, that's making the prism bump larger then expected then?

That little bump on the right side, near the strap...part of the strap or a hinge for the LCD?

Come on Ricoh, the wait is killing me!

Maybe that little hump on the side is part of the lock/release system for the detachable LCD screen?

It's plausible but I wonder if we'll ever see that.

Just a tab to facilitate opening the rubber door that covers the connectors?

The previous image clearly shows some kind of cover or flap on the bump.
But it's not like other covers or flaps, so I'm wondering if it's some kind of adjustment access. If it were a headphone jack, why not make the cover similar to the mic input?

It could be also haedphone jack too. I'm just wondering. Maybe it could be used for saving battery in some modes, where mirror is just on the way, like movie, or longer live view.. just a guess.

I have registered.

It's a blog. The entry with the K-3 photograph only says "Fresh K-3". There is nothing of particular interest in the 13 comments that follow.

Perhaps it's rather the flash housing that has grown bigger?
Are you suggesting that the flash housing is simply larger on the outside, but the inside working parts are identical, and they did this just to make it look different? Inconceivable! Pentax would never do this ...

Yep, the AF button now only has AF and MF on it, and a new button "AF MODE" above it. So they've surely done something special with the AF
Most likely it's going to be like in Nikons:
Pres and hold AF Modes button and then turn one wheel for AF mode selection (Single / Continuous / whatewer) and another wheel for AF point selection (Auto / Center / Multipoint / etc).

if it were a jack of some kind, wouldn't the cover look "removable" (for lack of a better word.) Rather than integrated with and stippled similar to the body rubber? Just from and ergonomic perspective it should have a thumbnail hold or something if it was meant to be used a lot.

Heh, heh...

....but no, I've just heard the same rumors as have others about a new flash system/type.

why would they have a headphone jack in a camera that's clearly not be redesigned in other ways for video?

Why would they have Mic jack if not for video? I doubt that it would be headphone jack, but like said, in other image it shows that there is a some sort of door/flap/... what for?
