I must have missed something. How do you know so sure it conceals a headphone port?!? A photographic tool dedicated even more to video, of all the rumors, hopes and whishes that have been vented on PF, I've seen such a request exactly 0.0 times.
Well maybe Mistral is better informed than we are?
A headphone port would be extremely nice to all guys doing Video even once a year.
I almost never do but the day I did, I really bitched at the absence of headphone port.

It so happens I do know. Mark my words and rendez-vous on the 8th (an announcement date I happen to be the first to have posted here ).
But the hump doesn't even show any kind of cap, door, rubber flap, hole or whatever. It's just a smooth hump. I'm hoping you're wrong and that it houses something useful.

LOL! That sums the usefullness of such a thing up perfectly.

Meanwhile though... https://www.pentaxforums.com/forums/non-pentax-cameras-canon-nikon-etc/238609...look-like.html So, the new Sony is going to be FF, be able to mount just about each and every lens out there, and will be stunningly beautiful as well.

Pre-production bodies that are used for testing are not finished products. People are way too concerned over what a "hump" may or may not be.

Its a good thing the body doesn't have a new dimple. I don't think the Pentax Forum servers could handle that.

I have all kinds of words to describe my feeling right now, but none that wouldn't trigger disciplinary actions from the moderators.

Clavius is hoping the bump houses something more useful than a headphone jack, hence my answer together with the picture.

1/8" phono plugs are a 2c part that can be put anywhere. It seems ridiculous to me to create a whole bump for it. Is it 1/4"? Why? Also why isn't the cover similar to the "mic" plug?

But if you know it's for headphones, I guess it is.

I'm way too smart to fall for that... there's lots of things I do fall for, but not that.

Video, meh. No need for headphones, etc. I have a purpose built HD video camera for video, I want a camera to do pictures, and do them well. Unless this thing would do 4k video then it gets nothign more than a meh from me on video capabilities. Thethering would be much more useful.

They hump might be even a connector without connection wchis is done with magnetic coupling, no cap needed, only a hump and it is clearly unique in DSLR's

Found this picture on a Japanese forum. Apparently the wideangle distortion was removed in Photoshop. So this should give a better idea about its "heft"
