So they won't be showing off any new DSLRs at the show.

Doesn't mean nothing's coming, of course.

Question is, WHY aren't they showing up 2 weeks after launching a new flagship? Doesn't make much sense unless they've figured out they get all the publicity they need from the net

Just a thought but they may be co-operative in either/both Adorama or B&H since they're the major net distributors and probably get more traffic with the color displays than a single booth buried in the corner.

After reading our wild speculations and unrealistic expectations, they're applying a new tactic: launch and hide

Maybe The Salon de la Photo in Paris early november is the right place to show all new products.

I suppose Rikon (Ricoh + Nikon) sounds better than Penon.

Maybe a communications firm has rented/reserved a stand for them.

The PhotoExpo is for professionals. Why would Pentax want to have a both there? Not their market.
