so what do we have? no specs so who knows

looks like all the lacking video features are addressed however. At least audio monitoring.

I'm making no claims about accurate scaling, but it is easy to see that the K-3 screen is more "cinema scope" compared to that of the K-5 (II).
Nice - thanks for that CA, shows the changes nicely

Indeed.
OK, but the silver version is just too much.

Looks like the 70's gone bad.

New AF button position may be problematic

I wear glasses and use my left eye with the OVF. Using the new AF button, my thumb is definitely going to make contact with the RH lens of my glasses.

I would prefer a fixed screen, if only because to my mind it seems more robust and easier to weather seal. In a fit of madness (and back ache) I bought a D5100 because of its swivelling screen (I already had a lot of Nikon glass), but it was much less useful than I thought it would be. Good for video work, I imagine, but that's not what I do.
I agree. One big disadvantage of articulated screen is that they protrude further out back, which makes it more difficult to use viewfinder on a camera with OVF. On cameras with EVF it's easier implement articulated LCD, as the placement of the EVF is not limited by the optical path of the lens.

I have never found a DSLR with articulated LCD that had OVF that was comfortable to use.

The "70's" was a place and way of being (not just a time) and they didn't just let anyone in either.

I like the new layout of the buttons. It's more practical, easier and faster to access important functions...

For those who didn't like the silver-black edition, why hate? You know there's a black version of this if that's your preferences. It's always nice to have choices. Not because you prefer a black camera doesn't meen that everyone should only prefer black camera...

For those who whines about the K-3 of improving its video capabilities, why hate? I too am a stills guy, but it's always great to have a good and better or great video function in just one package, that's why the Canon 5DmkII and mkIII really sells because not only that it's great in stills but also great in video...

Now, I wonder what the K-3's improvement/s and/or new functions?
Faster, better, and precise AF?
More AF points?
Tethering?
Image Quality?
Flash sync speed?
Wireless control?
Mobiles Apps for it?
Video and it's audio capabilites?

No, no, I'm just very good with history in general.

Especially with ancient times, like the 70's.

Richard, you are quite right - but for my part I was teasing, not hating....

Still sometimes these things do not come out right cross-culturally

Man, look at that beast!
Seems to be a video machine, but we'll have to wait to hear the specifications to make any real judgements. Looks like Pentax addressed many of the things people complained about.
Also, is it just me, or are the green (and red!) button on the back instead of on the top? From the top it seems very simplistic, with all the buttons sitting on the back
Oh, and IR on the front AND BACK! So people can use remote from any side

The camera looks nice and all but I'm hoping we can get comfirmation soon on the more critical things, like AF and flash sync speed

Dual SD is great (overdue now really), so is video switch (believe me people who were mainly still shooters might just start to do some video; with the switch pentax have basically enabled it in all shooting modes). The rest is nothing new so far...

Video with a prime that has quick shift is great fun

That Ricoh logo is ugleeeeh. Annnnd it's a headphone hump
