Don't be silly. In the old days cameras were silver-black, yet nobody complained it "look like bling from Cheap as Chips".

I think silver and black look good on a retro styled camera, but when you apply it to a modern DSLR it looks like a cheap attempt at going retro.

It looks like the metering pattern switch has been moved to a button. But there is still some switch there, concentric with the mode dial. Any thoughts what that might be?

My guess is that it's a different way of achieving the same thing the locking mode dial button on the Oly E-M1 does.

Basically, you can turn the locking button on the mode dial on or off using the lever, making it optional.

Eh? I don't think this answers my question. The new K-3 has a big ol' diopter adjustment, whereas the K-5 had a little slide behind the eye cup.

What's the big dial good for? Adjusting on the fly for a bunch of magnifying eye cups?

Looks more like a viewfinder blind to me. Looks like an 'X' with the arrow. Hopefully it is because I think that is a much needed feature for tripod work, especially with live view. Fiddling with that cover and eyecup work around is no fun and I find myself just using my thumb.

Although we know Pentax is owned by Ricoh as Nikon is owned by Mitsubishi.....the word 'Mitsubishi' is nowhere to be found on Nikon equipment.

I don't see how you have gathered that these lenses are optimized for video. They simply are not. If this is pentax's attempt at making lenses for video, they are more incont than we thought. Video lenses have a long focus throw, standardized filter thread (within a series) , and need to have a wide enough focus ring to accommodate a lens gear and follow focus. Andhould be long enough to extend into a matte box.

I believe, as does most of the rest of the world, that they are simply using the term HD for marketing purposes. Is there something in that translation that indicated that the lenses were optimized for video? I found it difficult to read.

Not to mention step-less aperture, too.
