So what? Does it have a prime III? I guess not? more mp might mean less speed, but much more is due to the image processor. It is much more likely this 20mp chip is in the k-3 than a imaginary 24mp chip. Unless Pentax has also turned to Toshiba.
A57 and A58 both use the same image processor, so it's a bit strange that the newer camera can't reach the same FPS as the older camera, even when using less than 1/3 as many pixels. The limitation might just as well be because of the sensor than anything else.

More likely firmware inhibited because of the price level of the a58.

It might be possible, but it's kind of stupid to limit FPS to 5 when SLT is marketed as a speedier alternative to DSLR.
But as it's Sony anything can happen, and it seems like they don't believe DSLR can do 5 FPS.

Noooooooooo! Sorry; cameras should be black. This makes the kit look cheap and nasty.
This is 2013. Basic black is cool but color is IN, lol. This is quite deliberately a nod to the old Pentax chrome and black. The minute I saw this I thought "Oh! Hello, a digital Spottie." It made me smile. I get tired of basic black actually. You always want the option but I like having a different choice.

The D7100 uses a Toshiba sensor. Please research before spewing out incorrect details.

I have already told my wife about the K-3, so I may as well get it in silver so I can tell it apart from my K-5 IIs

I know that the D5200 uses Toshiba but have not seen anything about D7100 in any case Toshiba would be just as happy to sell to Ricoh as to Nikon. And you might consider learning some manners as well.

The first sentence is acceptable if it is true but the second one is not. Please think before spewing out vitriol! 'nuff said!

My second comment may have been unnecessary. In fact, my wife agrees with you. Having said that, do you realize these posts show up on google? Each and every one may live forever and ever.

I'm in IT and this is one of my pet peeves. That is, comments based on guesses as opposed to fact.

And I happened to think the D7100 used a Sony sensor up until a week ago Why? No doubt because I learned of it from some misinformed forum post.
