..that would depend on where you live.

Next time you're "rooting for" your team think of the Australian meaning for that term will you?

The new AF in the K-3 might be better than the 7D, but USM is noticeably faster than SDM, so unless Pentax updates SDM it won't be faster. Pentax could put a faster motor in the body for screw drive lenses. Since most of Pentax's premium glass is screw drive.
In my experience the K-5 screwdrive is infinitely faster than the D7000 using 'equivalent' Tamron 70-200's. It seems like 3x faster but that's probably an exaggeration.

The in-body motor is different. The Pentax screw drive is pretty fast on certain lenses. My 31LTD is plenty fast for what I use it for.

What was the final word on the sensor- I know Adam verified it is Sony, but has it been verified it's a new design?

On the FA*600 it is quite fast too, if the new motor is less Noisy it would be soooo nice !

Some elements are unveiled by sony on the alpha 7 highlights; see the "Three advances in sensor technology" on this page
Sony Global - Sony Global - Digital Imaging - ?7

I hope these advances can be available on the K3 sensor too, fingers crossed !

This person's comment was a cryptic 'as long as its designated K, it will be aps-c'
Might be true, might be a respin of that A mount rumor that this guy picked up on other forums.....

Very tempting, the Sony alpha 7 as a stop gap to take Pentax full-frame lenses. I just wish it wasn't quite so weird looking...

The A77/NEX-7 has a 3 year old sensor, which is like a decade for sensor tech. I'd bet money the K-3 has a new 24MP sensor. The K-3 has to be relevant for the next 3 years, so Pentax can't afford to use an old sensor.

No it does not. We do not refer to others with offensive names here.

Dream on, as the K-3 is not meant as a K-5 II replacement. The K-3 will be the absolute top model while the K-5 will be placed just below. Finally a proper 3-tier line-up (K-500/K-50, K-5, K-3 in Pentax land!
As I said the K5II prices dropped considerably and I got my dream camera for only $599 on black Friday shipped.

Hi everybody !

I don't have a K-3 yet but I would seriously love to...

A little question to those who already have bought this marvel : could you give an example of SD CARD (specifications) which allows you to fully benefit the fast continuous shooting capability of the camera (8.3 fps through about 60 JPG or 23 RAW) ?

Thanx for your answer !

Any good quality class 10 card should be fine. Most of the newer Sandisk ones are 45mb/sec or higher. I use all Sandisk Extreme Pro, but I'm sure that is overkill.

I would not go with Sandisk Ultra, as they're slow. Extreme Pro are fast, though - and go for less than 40 euro for 16GB. Surely, there are other brands worth considering; in any case, because of the large files (and it won't get any better when new cameras will be introduced) I'd pay attention to speed.
The camera should shoot those 23 RAW frames at full speed even with a slow card, but then it would take some time to write them on the card.
