Nothing about the new image processor? Prime III? D7100 does 1080p at 60 fps so the K-3 must have a weaker processor? AFAIK the sony 24mp chip in the Nex-7 a77 also has the same dimensions and 24.71 mp.

Edit: dpreview says prime 3 and probably a toshiba sensor.

Well OK then,
I am impressed !

Maybe I will buy my first smaller sensor aps-c dslr since K20D I bought new in 2008.

I didn't notice, does K-3 use a Sony Manufactured Sensor ?

It's a toshiba sensor I believe, same one that's in the D7100 and D5200.

The specs look great The AF array looks good with the 4 corners covered and the nice big buffer. If they had a 100-400mm I would be really tempted.

With the crop sensor, the DA* 60-250 is essentially a 100-400, and it's constant f/4 and sharp as hell across the board.

Also, this camera looks rad.

Do you have any information about this, or it's just a supposition?
By the way, that Toshiba sensor is not "capable of outperforming the K-5/D7000's old 16-megapixel chip in all areas".

Less noise (scaled), more DR, more resolution, faster burst- I don't follow The sample pics will prove it. The difference, however, won't be as massive as K-7 to K-5.

The D7100 can't do 1080p/60, only 1080p/30 and 720p/60. The K-3 can do 1080i/60, which is the highest resolution/framerate supported by DVD's currently (AFAIK).

There's a big difference between 1080p and 1080i as far as processing power is concerned, so that's why the K-3 can do 60 FPS I think.

Looks pretty amazing to me. I really like the launch price of 1299 -- previous flagship APS-C cameras have launched at 1500. I will definitely replace one of my K5s with one of these before too long.
